I currently work at St. Joes as a PCT in the ICU been there for 8 years and I love it.

I live in Bryan and worked there for seven years. Decent place to work. It's a typical hospital with all the corporate politics. Pay is competitive. Nice facility. Lot's of good people with a few jerks. It's also a fairly busy place to work. The ER and Tele stay busy, and last I heard they're trying to get Level II trauma cert (havent' worked there in a while so who knows what they're up to) so I'm sure you'd see lots of interesting stuff.

From an OR perspective (which I assume you are) the surgeons are pretty nice. Shockingly the neuro guys are all laid back and pleasant to work with. It's the thoracic guys you have to watch out for.

St. Joes is currently working on becoming a Trauma II facility. They have already contracted with a local air medic company and Joes now has air medic on site. St. Joes has also brought in a new trauma surgeon. In the time that I've worked at Joes I've been able to work in many different departments. The staff on every floor (med, surg, tele, ICU, ONC, etc) are great, of course every place has those few staff members that are just "ugly." Aggie RN I find it hard to believe that you had issues with the CV surgeons. Out of the only three joes has I can see one being a little difficult but not all three.
