St Elizabeth School of Nursing?

Published

I was wondering if there are any current St E students or alumni here. I am considering applying to the nursing school, and would like to know how students and former students feel about the St E.

Thank You

Lilac

Yeah I heard that. If they don't have 6 students signed up for the summer class then they drop it. So far it doesn't seem like I'll have that problem because there are alot of people in the accelerated program. Yeah I like it. Like with most programs some of the faculty are difficult but most do want you to succedd and if you go to them they will help u.

That's great that there are so many in the accelerated program! I hope there are several next August.

I have heard they have some type of program you can work for GLHS hospitals for two years after finishing and they help pay off your student loans. Have you heard of this?

Anyway, it sounds like a great program and I'm looking foward to getting out of my cubicle and making a difference!

Thanks for the info!

They have a scholarship/loan program that you can apply for and if you work for them for x amount on years then that's how you repay it, otherwise it's an interest free loan.

That sounds really cool! Thanks for all your info! :)

Hi all! I've read through the post and I'm excited about getting started this Fall in the accelerated program. I would like to know if you're in the accelerated program will your first year be on St.Joe's campus or will you be in Lafayette? I'm looking for a place to stay and not really sure which area I should be looking in. Can someone please shine some light on that for me?

Also, I'm currently taking some preqs, but I wanted to know if it was difficult in that first year trying to take Chemistry, A&P, Stastics along with the nursing clinicals. I hope to have all those preqs done by the fall? What does the day look like when you are on campus? Do you attend class from 7-4p? Trying to get an idea of the first semester.

Thanks!

Arik

I just got accepted to St. E for this fall and I'm really excited about starting the accelerated program as well. From what I've read in the information I received, the first year will be at St. Joseph. There is an information day this Saturday, January 31 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth. I hope to find out more. I'm not sure about the prereqs, I didn't plan on taking anything until August.

Cool. I was going to try to make it to the informational this Saturday as well but I had some other things that I already had planned. I would love for you to post an update of information you receive about the first year in the accerlerated program once you find out.:D

Sounds good! I'll post what I find out for the Accelerated/Track III program.

Where are you taking pre-reqs at? I just figured since it's not much difference in price (19 credits vs 12), I'd take everything at St. Joseph/St. E.

I'm actually taken my preqs at the community college here in Tennessee. I really don't think it is smart to try to come into my first semester with 20 hours the way they have it set-up when I can go ahead and take the Stats, Micro, Chemistry, and A & P I & II before the fall. I hope to have all these finished by the fall i'm enrolled in 3 course now and might through in patho this summer as well.

I too will be attending the St. Elizabeth school this fall in the accelerated program. I am looking forward to getting started and meeting all of my fellow students.

GQue1911, Were you able to attend yesterday's registration? My schedule doesn't look too bad with Chemistry, Anat, Statistics, and the nursing classes. I'm ready for August!

Hey Famous, I wasn't able to attend yesterday's registration. I will be going to the one on the 30th. How long are the nursing classes. I'm actually not going to be taking any of the science courses, because I've already completed Micro and Stats this past Spring and I'm taking Chem and A&P 1 this summer, so I'm really hoping to have a light schedule because I need to work...
