Hi all,
I know salary issues are sticky ones on these boards.....however.....my tax guy is going to run the numbers for me to help me determine whether or not I will work in NY or NJ. I am in an area of NJ that is easily commutable to NYC and in addition to adding in the commuting costs, my tax guy is going to give me the tax implications of working in NY vs. NJ. Initially he thought you would have to get paid $10K more to make working in NY worth it, but he will run the numbers more thoroughly.
Anyway, my hospital of choice in NJ is St Barnabas in Livingston due to its reputation and proximity to my home. However, i do not know what they are starting their new nurses at.
Any information is appreciated. THANKS.
Anyone?
Thanks.

St. Barnabas in Lakewood, NJ (Kimball Med. Ctr.) quoted me $24.25/hr for new grads with a diploma or A.S. Nursing; they will pay a dollar more for BSNs ($25.25). St. Barnabas in toms River, NJ (Community Hospital) said the same thing...hope this helps........

Really, the quoted me $24.92 new grad in the ER. for say shift, $3-5 more nights weekends.
Definately $28.33 in ER in summer 2006-I can't say for this past year. It's possible union negotiations of last November changed the entry rate, but I would doubt it. I will ask our new grads tomorrow what they are getting and let you know.
Maisy;)
Above rate for day shift-did not include weekend and night differential.

I just started @ SBMC in September - I'm starting off with $29/hr before my night shift differential...nycNurse2b - I'm curious as to what you ended up doing - Did you go to NYC or SBMC?
