Hi, I'm planning to take the nclex in california. I am still on the process of applying. I just read in the application form that I need a social security number. I only have a tourist visa and I'm planning to take the exam in California. By any chance, can I take the exam without SSN?BTW, I am a filipino and I am a RN in the Philippines.

Re think your plans. CA will not accept application without a US SSN and you can not get that until in the US with a valid work/immigrant visa

How can i take nclex in cali without SSN?
You can sit NCLEX anywhere in the world where it is available however the issue we are telling you is you can not apply to the CA board of nursing without a US SSN.
What board of nursing have you applied to for licensure?
I haven't applied yet. I'm just planning when and where will I take the nclex

my advice for you is to check other states that does not require SSN to process your nclex...dont choose cali if you dont have SSN..
Thank you for your suggestion. It's one of my plans.
The SSN requirement eliminates the chance of non-immigrants or non US citizens from ever taking the licensure for CA. So PH nurses must be aware if you come here as tourists with that plan in mind. And unlike the pre-retrogression era, you can't do adjustment of status anymore. That's now the way it is. Best to go home and do something else.
How about in nevada?
