Hi, I'm planning to take the nclex in california. I am still on the process of applying. I just read in the application form that I need a social security number. I only have a tourist visa and I'm planning to take the exam in California. By any chance, can I take the exam without SSN?BTW, I am a filipino and I am a RN in the Philippines.
Re think your plans. CA will not accept application without a US SSN and you can not get that until in the US with a valid work/immigrant visa
Forget it. That's not a wise move. You have no chance of doing that here.Hi, I'm planning to take the nclex in california. I am still on the process of applying. . Kabayan you can take nclex exam either in Manila, any asian countries or here in Cali.,since your here under tourist visa..,but you cant apply for licensure in Cali.because of the required SSN.Ohh.. Okay. Thank you! Maybe I'll take nclex somewhere else like in manila or other asian countries.
The SSN requirement eliminates the chance of non-immigrants or non US citizens from ever taking the licensure for CA. So PH nurses must be aware if you come here as tourists with that plan in mind. And unlike the pre-retrogression era, you can't do adjustment of status anymore. That's now the way it is. Best to go home and do something else.
