Just submitted my application today and was wondering if anyone else is with me for the stressful wait. I applied for the Sacramento Campus

what prerequisite are you missing or is it still in progress?

Pathophysiology. It's an online class that ends in early December.

The website says "Prerequisites may be in progress at the time of application, but must be completed at the end of the specified semester as indicated above. This applies to all courses, campus based, self-paced or independent study."

The chart says you should've completed the pre-req by August 31st. I think you should contact SMU as soon as possible. Better to let them know about it than have them find out after you start and they kick you out.

Hey Januarylilac! You should be fine taking your prerequisites now, as long as they are completed by the time we start. I'm currently taking pharm. The only problem with taking it courses in the fall was that they would give priority acceptance to those who finished them in summer. However, you were accepted, so no worries. Here's what is posted on SMU's ABSN admission requirements page (towards the top in red) regarding prereq courses:

"While it is possible to apply with prerequisites planned for the fall, it is highly recommended that all courses be completed by the end of summer. Preference will be given to applicants who have all prerequisites completed by the end of summer. Students may not take prerequistes concurrently while enrolled in the ABSN program."

Are you taking the class with SMU? When I asked about my prerequisites that I still had left to take, which were Patho and Pharm, L. told me they must be completed by August 31. When I spoke with someone at the Oakland campus they told me if I plan to apply closer to an application deadline but have 1-2 classes I still have to take which can't be completed before the certain prereq guideline, that it's ok as long as those classes are taken with SMU.

I looked at the past academic calendars and it looks like the spring classes typically begin a couple of days after January 1! :eek: I always thought it was mid-January.
