Spring 2008 NYU Applicant No Pre-reqs

Hi everyone,

I didn't see a thread specific to my situation so I thought I would start one.

I applied for Spring 2008 for NYU's Accelerated Second Degree BSN but I have very few of the pre-reqs completed. I was told it would take me one semester longer but I could still do it much faster their way.

Is anyone else in this situation? Any acceptances letters coming in yet? Anyone else questioning their ambition to go to nursing school?

Also, does anyone know what semester you take med-surg at NYU? I hear once you complete that you can start applying for summer externships, which means $$$ coming in.

I got my financial aid posted online (in NetPartner) and did get some scholarship money and am just hoping for a bit more from the other ones I'm applying for. I registered for classes/clinical already so you should be getting the registration info in the mail soon to do the same. I think there may only be Bronx sites left for clinical this semester but there may be Manhattan placements left - I was able to get into one when I registered Thursday. Also there were no labs open for Health Assessment & Promotion so i'm going to be calling them this week to see what that's about. Getting everything together has just felt so last minute and stressful but it'll all work out. Good luck getting it all together and I'll probably see you in class!
