Spring 2019 Fayetteville Tech CC Nursing Intake

Published

Hello,

I wanted to find out if there any pre-nursing students from Fayetteville Tech who have received their HARF for Spring 2019 intake.

I just got mine this morning.

Do you happen to know the difference between a Category 1 and Category 2 applicant?

I was told that being a Category I applicant just means that you meet all the requirements. Not 100% sure about that as I was told that by a previous student, so I don't know if that is correct or not. However, I was a category I applicant last entry, as well as this one, and didn't get in. I didn't have enough competitive points.

I see. I also am a category 1 applicant and I'm trying to see if my CNA certification would boost my current points. What's the highest, possible number of points a category 1 student might have to be deemed 'competitive'?

I'm not sure if the highest possible points but I do know that you get extra points for having a current CNA certification. Unfortunately, I don't have anything to give me extra points :(

I'm sure you will be fine. Did you have ALL the prerequisites the last time you applied?

I have everything done and everything except BIO 169. I have to retake it. I'm re-taking it this semester. When I applied last time I didn't have either BIO and had under 50 points. I have over 50 now. I'm worried about my points seeing what other people on here have said they have. And my Health GPA dropped significantly from doing so bad in BIO 169. It's still above the required GPA but I'm still nervous. I've already been taking classes for my BSN so if I don't get in this time again, I'm thinking about just going for my BSN if I can.

I did hear though that there are typically less applicants for Spring so your chances are better than Fall.

Oh, now I see. It would do you good if you take Bio 169 again and a for an A this time around. It weighs a lot and consequentially raises your GPA and competitive pts. I have 80pts from my prerequisites(excluding health GPA and TEAS pts) and I thought that would automatically qualify me for the seat. I guess I'll just wait and see. Are u taking a 16-week class on campus?

I'm taking an 8-week on campus. Last time I took it online. I usually maintain a high GPA but last semester I let my husbands coming home from deployment and then us going on vacation distract me, and unfortunately got too behind on assignments and couldn't get caught up. I've learned my lesson though.

You will do great! Most importantly, you will get that seat! All the best!
