Hi everyone,
I'm from Vietnam. I go to school in Michigan and will complete my BSN program in December of this year, 2019. I have recently found out about Conexus and their sponsorship program, which they help F1 visa students to find a placement for OPT and file visa application. Is there anyone have been through this program with Conexus? How was your experience? How active was Conexus during the whole process of finding OPT placement and visa application? Is there any of you who went through this process and had received your green card? How long did it take, if you don't mind I'm asking?
I appreciate any information that you can share with me. Thank you in advance!!

I’m also from Vietnam and did receive my green card. I did not go through a hiring agency though; the hospital I’m working at sponsored my green card. With OPT, you can find placement yourself, but beyond that you’ll need help from either your employment or a hiring agency as you mentioned. I got very lucky with the hospital that I’m working for now, especially when they mentioned the option of green card sponsorship when I was hired, but it did take me a year to receive my green card.
I’m not sure if you read this topic yet, but it may be helpful to you. It looks like many international nurses used Conexus and have been successful with their immigration process. It does sound like you need to be flexible to move to a state where there is a need, and you might end up working in an LTC facility instead of a hospital.

I currently work with Conexus and although they do little stuff for us, I wouldn't sign up with them. Its a 5,000hr contract which takes at least 2 years or more to complete depending if you work overtime. On their contract there is a clause that says you can't sue them if anything happens. They are as slow as snails in filing your immigration paperwork. Some people had to stop work after their opt for 2-4 months because they filed their petition late and so the new EAD didn't come in time or they got RFE's which made the process longer. Some people i know have currently been getting RFE's with most of their petitions and they won't tell you why you got an RFE. I'm sure the reason for the RFE is more on Conexus side and not the applicants. The Lucky ones have their green cards. Don't sign any contract with them. The pay is trash!!!!!!!!! Not worth it. Imagine getting paid 20-22/hr (that range depends on what facility they put you in). I signed mine out of desperation because that was the only company i knew of when i graduated college. Now i know other companies that sponsor F1 nurses. Look up ConneticsUSA on facebook. There's also another called GuardianHealth i think. ConneticsUSA look legit and look like they have sound lawyers. Good luck!!!! MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS READ YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING IT!!!! I WISH I KNEW OF OTHER ALTERNATIVES BEFORE SIGNING WITH THEM. DON'T BE FOOLED BY RELOCATION AND MOVING ALLOWANCES AND FREE FIRST MONTH OF RENT! Look for other companies and other alternatives before signing a contract with ANY NURSING AGENCIES. Use your OPT Work permit wisely.
