SPC NursingProgram 2017

Published

Hi everyone!

I am new to this community, but I need some help and advice from other students :)

I am currently attending SPC and this semester I am taking World Religions and A&P 2. After this semester I plan on taking Statistics in the Summer. So after that I will only need to take Speech and Microbiology before all my pre reqs are completely finished. But my question is, do I have to take these last two classes before even applying to the program? Do I really need Speech? And if I don't, then I was thinking about taking Micro along with Statistics in the summer. Because my hope was to apply for the Spring 2017 program and the application deadline is September 2016. I'm just feeling a little discouraged right now because I'm not sure if I am on the right path or not. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Specializes in NICU RN.

I'm also taking world religions at the moment.

I'll be taking stats in the summer session (along with A&P). We may see each other.

I suggest meeting with a good advisor. They will tell you what you need before you can apply for the program. I've also have great success using the Career Center. Fantastic staff there!

I can tell you that the average accepted applicant for fall admission has 29.9 credits completed and like a 3.8 GPA. I know that spring is easier to get into, but I don't know the numbers. Ask the program about the average accepted applicant's status for spring admission with regards to these two things and that will give you a much better idea. Best of luck to you. I'm hoping to start the program this fall.

You can certainly apply with only the required classes completed (A&P1 and 2 and labs, Psych, and Computer Literacy) but you almost certainly will not get into the program even in the spring with only these courses completed. That's why the average accepted applicant information is so important. It gives you a good idea whether or not you'll be accepted.

It depends on which part of the yr you are applying. Because they pull applications after grades are in this semester for fall or if you apply for spring they pull before grades are in for january. Also if you dont end up with a 4.0 it is beneficial to apply with everything finished for start in spring...
