SPC, Helen Ellis experience

I'm in SPC about to sign up for Level 3 and I have it narrowed down to either going to Helen Ellis or Largo Med. I was wondering if anyone had any insight into which one would be better?

I am about to enter level 2 @ SPC and I have not heard very good things about Largo Med for people who have worked there. There are a lot of posts on this site about Largo Med...if you do a search I am sure you can find info on what others have experienced there. I have not heard anything good or bad about Helen Ellis. Have you looked @ Baycare hospitals? Good luck!!! :)

Well, I haven't heard awesome things about Largo Med either. But I won't be working there, just doing Med/Surg 2 days/week for the most part of the semester. Also, I have heard that Helen Ellis is a bit old, but I'm choosing partially on professors otherwise I would be at Baycare.

Well at least you will not be there for long.. lol. YAY SUMMER SESSION!

Well, this is going to be for this coming Fall... Good luck in your summer session!

I did some clinical work at Helen Ellis for Phlebotomy and then some volunteer work as a CNA and I liked it. The people are nice, granted the hospital is older and so are the patients in it.. Also, this was a couple of years ago --

Some of my classmates are doing their clinicals at Morton Plant - Clearwater and they seem to love it, can you choose from Baycare sites?

Yea, the only reason the Baycare sites are off the table this semester is because I have to take psych in the semester and they seem to have it scheduled for the end. Which is not a good thing from what I hear from everyone.

Are you signing up for fall semester? I had Helen Ellis for 3 and I thought it was wonderful. Like the other poster said- it's small and kinda old- but the staff are friendly. My instructor was wonderful, although I'm not sure they keep the same. PM me and I'll talk to you more about it, last time I mentioned detailed things on here my post got deleted. Anyways best of luck. Oh yeah, having psych at the end is tough but you can do it. Watch out for that pediatric prep though. It'll take awhile and chances are you'll be writing the IPA at the same time...and with just enough time to take the final. It's not too bad though, just stay on top of it and you'll be fine.

Thanks Shesarriot!

Clinical preps are the easiest you'll ever do. I mean in nursing 2 they were taking me two days and in 3 they took about an hour. You'll still learn alot though. I was super grateful to be with my group and I live close by so it worked for me. I don't know anything or anyone who went to Largo. Level 4 I'm going to try for bayfront- what a horrible drive, but worth it for a one day a weel clinical.

HI sorry to bother... I am getting ready to go to level 3.. and I am going to be at hellen ellis... I am hearing bad reviews and I was wondering.. any advice?

my instructor is goot/esser
