SPC Fall 2019

Published

Hey, everyone! I've been looking for a thread about fall applications for SPC Nursing program, but nothing yet! It may be early, since the application period just started on March 1st, but here we go! I applied as soon as it opened , and I'm crossing my fingers until the July 1st. Anyone else applied or planning to do it soon? Let me know your thoughts and plans, we are all together in this one ? .

Does anyone know the days and times of the night program? I think the summer is 16 weeks completed in 10 weeks, and that might be 1pm-11pm (Monday-Thursday).

Does anyone want to get together for lunch/drinks and talk about our upcoming journey? Preferably with those who have a 3.6+

550 people apply and 90 get in

Usually in the fall only 3.7+ get in

Me: 30/30 3.9 program(statistics hurt me) 3.7 cumulative(again Bs in math)

Did anyone else do well in everything but math?

Anyway, I'm so excited I need to talk to people as excited as me!

I've watched hours of YouTube videos and my Amazon shopping cart is growing!

I’m up for meeting! 3.9 program GPA

Hi y’all

can we please talk about choosing a clinical site? This is my biggest concern. How are we supposed to know the pros/cons?

my advisor told me we would get a little description when the options came up during school. But I started doing my own research. Looking up reviews on Glassdoor and Google from patients.

My email is also [email protected]

Yes, I bugged my advisor Tammy Cappleman and she confirmed. It's best to see more than one advisor and more than one financial aid person. They tend to know different things. And if I get an email about anything school related I don't hesitate to go to the health and science building.

I prefer day classes, so that’s what I’m going to choose when they send the letter of intent ( if I get in, fingers crossed). I suggest you guys try what I did, and see how day vs. night schedule works for you. So, I went to MySpc page/My learning plan, and I added nursing classes for all 4 semesters, that’s what they suggested we do, when I went to the orientation. Now, where you would normally search for classes, I typed 1021C, which is the Nursing I, and then checked the fall semester box, and also Health Education Center for location, and it showed me all available classes, times, locations, and instructors, just like you guys did when you signed up for any other classes. So there, I kind of compared the clinical sites, times and all I could, and made my choice. You can only add it to the cart, but obviously not register for those classes since you are not in the program yet. So my choice is sitting in my cart in my planner, and I’m just waiting to see if that could possibly be my match for clinical when they send the letter of intent. I hope this helps to clarify at least the clinical sites and the hours for you guys ? If I’m not clear in my explanation, please let me know.

Also, thanks for making the Facebook page ?

Also, to add to the previous post, they did say that you choose clinical sites based on Availability when they send you the choices, if you want days or nights, and consider the distance from your home.
