Southwestern College (SWC), San Diego - Fall 2025 ADN

Published

Southwestern college San Diego ADN applications for fall 2025- I thought I'd start this for anyone applying to the fall 2025 cohort! I saw they just changed their point system.

If I could make a guess, I think they have a cut off and then from those above the cut off they choose their 60 by lottery. I was told by my friend who's husband is currently in the program that they may have more seats than 60. but it wasn't clarified if that will be for this cohort or the upcoming ones after this cycle

I didn't think southwestern did lottery style. I thought they did it solely on point system

Yeah only Mira costa and a small portion at Palomar does lottery.

@yusibmatos you should have higher points with the other colleges for 5 points healthcare experience. Did u apply anywhere else?

I gonna apply to a private school I cannot wait more , 4 year in being a CNA is tired plus I had a good GPA 3.87

Have you applied anywhere else?

No I didn't apply to any other colleges, was my mistake plus as a single mom sometimes is hard to remember the others college are open at the same time, but I had a meeting with one of the consul at college to see what I can do to improve my situation 😏

@Dazil ME TO, manifesting this for all of us 🙏🏼

I found out today that I got put on the alternate list for both swc and grossmont. I found out through someone that's currently in the nursing program at swc that the way it works for the alternates is that they get listed from highest to lowest scores and also based on when you turned in your application. So let's say someone has the same amount of points as you then whoever turned in their application first gets offered the spot. I'm hoping for the best. I was also told that after orientation those on the alternate list will find out if there's a spot available and one student even found out a week before school started that there was a spot available. I wish all of you guys the bestest of luck! But for grossmont I'm not sure if that's how the list works as well.

Does it work that way for the applicants who get in or just the alternate list? Did you get an email for the alternate list?
