Southwestern College (SWC) - Fall 2024 (ADN)

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to make this thread for those who are applying for the SWC fall 2024 ADN program. Looks like their application style is all on paper! I'm almost ready to turn mine in. How many points are you guys coming in at? I have about 87 points if I did the math correctly. I'm not overly confident or anything because I was recently rejected from SDCC this cycle with ~84 points on their system. It's getting real competitive out here! Good luck to everyone!

I'm also applying this cycle. If they accept all my points, I'll have 87 points. I turned in the application at the campus, and they told me that they'll send out a email of whether we got in or not, 2-3 weeks after the application period closes. So around Feb 19- March 3. Good luck to everyone!

Hello everyone,

I figured I would chime in as a nursing student at Southwestern. The points for the program looks pretty good. The school not only looks at the points, but they also look for high grades in the science classes. I remember being in your shoes.

Good Luck

I got a couple of quick questions for you. I could be overthinking it, but did you turn in the page 4 of the application where it asks about immunizations and CPR card? And also, did you turn in the full paper packet by itself? Seems kinda off not being able to staple it and then hand them a bunch of loose papers. Thank you for the application date info by the way. I'm confident we have a chance!

For the fourth page it said to only turn in once you get accepted into the program and yeah it's just a bunch of loose papers but the worker that was there when I turned it in put a paper clip. Little scary though cause you don't receive any confirmation or anything.

Congrats on getting in! I have a few questions...how many points did you have and did that include the life experiences points? Because I would be applying with 88-90 points if they accept my other points. Besides the science classes, do they look for the TEAS scores & what else do they look for? Roughly how many students got in & how many applicants are there if you know? Sorry for the many questions, just nervous about this application...

Hi everyone! So glad to be part of this thread and get to know your experiences. I will turn my application soon and I would have 88 points and if they accept my two life points I would hopefully have 90 points. So excited and nervous for this journey and hoping many of us here will get into the program! ?

Oh no the questions are fine. I do think they make judgement with TEAS scores and having roughly 88-90 points is pretty competitive for Southwestern. I had 4 life experiences I believe and had roughly 90-91 points. Do you have CNA experience? I believe that was a valuable amount of points. I get your nervous, I was too. I know when I applied I do not think I got confirmation email that they received my application until way later. One good thing I can say is, they will let you know if you're missing documentation.

This is great to know, thank you. I did pretty average on my TEAS so I'm hoping that won't deter them too much. One more quick question from me. How soon after receiving your acceptance did SWC start requiring you to complete the CPR, background check, drug test, and immunizations? Wondering if I should get a head start on that.

You should start your CPR and immunizations now, the rest of the stuff will be finalized once your in the program you will have certain places you can go to do a drug test and the background check is a package deal that is ran at the start of the course.

I just submitted my application today... so nervous ?. How long until we receive approval that they receive the application? And when do they usually send out acceptance and rejection emails? It's going to be a waiting game from here.... Good luck to us all and hope many of us get in !!??

Hi all,

I am applying with 90 points...I need to submit my application tomorrow
