Southwest community college spring 2015 hopefuls!

Published

Let's start a new thread for the spring 2015 hopefuls ! Let's share our journey

Has anyone took the nln yet? I take it Tuesday and I'm so nervous :nailbiting:

Specializes in ED/ICU.

I'm taking it tomorrow as well. I work at Lebonheur, so I'm able to get free BLS certification and shots. Where did you all find a list of what shots are needed, I think I'm up to date. Also, if you happen to get a Methodist hospital for clinical you will need a flu shot as well. I didn't see where anyone mentioned it. AHHHHHH the anxiety!!!

my best tip for the NLN is on the math- review fractions and decimals. It is difficult to study for the science portion or the vocabulary. Just read carefully. Best of luck! I am sure you will do great!

That's the same thing I'm trying to figure out.

Hi! I am turning in my application for Spring 2015 today! I would recommend turning in your application early because there is a good chance of Southwest losing your paperwork or not being able to find your transcript and shot records. That is what happened to me last year when I applied and it was too late to resend it all so this year I will be calling every few weeks to make sure they have all my records. Good luck to you all!

@megb2015 thanks for the advice what's your index score? & are we suppose to turn in shot records with application?

I am turning in my shot records with my application today to the Admissions office just to make sure they have it! I don't think you have to turn it in with your application, just make you they have your shots on record. My index score is a 64.1.

They just didn't have my immunizations on record because I grew up in Florida then went to the University of Memphis and had never taken a class at Southwest before. I sent them my shots last year but my chickenpox vaccine records were never received so I had to go get that shot again. If you have already attended Southwest, then don't worry!

@megb2015 you say this your second time applying y is that? your index score is great!

The first time I applied I had not taken microbiology yet so my index score was very low and I didn't get in

@megb2015 someone tried to get me to apply without all my prerequisite I knew that was a for sure rejection but with your current one you are for sure getting in : )

Thanks for giving the heads up on this. Do you exactly what shot we are suppose to have?
