Southern Adventist University

Hello,

Can anyone shed some light for me on Southern Adventist University. I am interested in knoowing about transportation, diversity, if the school is worth the price etc. Any information is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Genesis 1:1,

I have several friends who have graduated from Southern's nursing program. I've only heard good things from them about it.

I do know the school has a good reputation partly from hearing that it has such a high pass rate on the NCLEX. My friends were all anxious about taking it after finishing their degree because the School of Nursing had something like a 98% pass rate and so you stand out if you don't pass (They all passed easily).

I live in Collegedale, but I know people who commute from Georgia (some even from Alabama). Its about 10 minutes from Highway 75, but there is a shortcut from the Ringgold exit if you're that far south.

Southern is diverse in my opinion. Additionally around 200 students are international I'd say. There are cultural heritage events on campus too.

Anyway, when I was on their nursing site, I saw this was who you contact for info about their undergrad program:

Hope that helps!

Forgot to mention they're starting a Doctorate of Nursing Practice program too. Its definitely a growing school.

Hello Ijames

Thanks for the information. I appreciate it very much.

I know I'm about 2 years late on this thread but could you please share an experience or information? I'm deciding between Southern and Southwestern Adventist University.

Hello ElizabethRosales

Not sure if your still looking for more info on Southern but I am currently in the Nursing program at Southern.

What info are you looking for exactly?

As far as my experience has gone, it's been pretty awesome. Although the school is a bit high priced, you do however get what you pay for. When I become a parent and my kids want to come here to Southern I would go broke to give them a college experience, and education they could get from here.

The nursing program here is AWESOME! Every friend that has gone through it and every where I have herd that Southern produces the best nurses in the area which says a lot because there are easily over 5 nursing schools here. The program will kick your butt but will def prepare you to become a successful nurse. If you want to know anything else jus let me know.

I want to know everything there is to know about southern. I'm not sure if I'll be starting in august 16 or January 17. I'm so nervous and ready to get started. I've finished all my prereqs for my bsn. I'm wondering exactly how much longer will it take for me to complete

Hey,

I just wanted to see if you started this fall (2016) or are you going to start January 2017?
