Hello,
I just wanted to say that I truly appreciate this site. I will be starting the FNP program at South University October 5th, 2016. After much thought I decided that I will no longer procrastinate. I currently work in one of FL's top Trauma/Neuro ICU's and know that I am capable of doing this program and succeeding. I have been scouting this school for approximately 2 years and have decided that this was the year to get a move on things. I have a great admission rep, who was the same women I met and spoke with 2 years prior when I was thinking about going.
I have researched this school to a degree that I think is unhealthy (HA) and the way I see it everything is what you make it. I am not one of those people who went to a well known RN program, in fact people looked down the moment they heard the name (for profit) , but guess what, with my determination and will, I worked my butt off, passed my NCLEX (2012) and now am working along side nurses who went to those very well known schools as a trauma ICU nurse. I can assure anyone that patients don't ask what school you went to, they want to know they have a competent and nurturing nurse by their side.
I am lucky to say I live literally 5 minutes away from the TAMPA, FL campus and will be doing the brick and mortar program. I work nights 3 days a week and plan on working only FRI, SAT and SUN. I would like to communicate as regularly as possible with both Brick and Mortar and Online students, both current and past.
