Hey All-

Thinking about taking applying for a travel job at South Miami Hospital on their Oncology floor. Anyone taken a travel assigment there?

This is so funny, I've been trying to get my husband to take a position there. They have a M/S open in South Miami and a Peds position in Ft. Lauderdale. He won't let us apply because he is worried about being inner city. Is it?

South Miami hospital is not in the inner city. It's in a pretty nice area. It is also a Magnet hospital.

Not at all. South Miami is right next to Coral Gables and Pinecrest. Coral Gables is where the University of Miami is and Pinecrest is where a lot of the Heat Basketball and Miami Dolphin players leave. I would say South Miami is upper middle class to high class residents.

i did clinicals there, it is a rich peoples hospital... one thing i didn't like about it, def. upper class.

i like the underserved.

Specializes in ER, Tele, Cardiac Cath Lab.

Im finishing my contract there sept 25. The ratios there are good but the politics are the worse i have ever seen. I work on the tele floor . The floor clinician is up the nurses but constantly. You barely have time for a patient. You constantly having to stop for some inservice. GOOD LUCK!!!
