Soon to be grad facing doubts

Published

I am a ADN student completing my last semester, and while I am extremely excited to be nearing graduation, I am starting to second guess myself. I am looking for any words of wisdom for preparing for NCLEX. I already have a job on medical floor as a graduate nurse in May, so the pressure is on to pass "boards". Thanks for all of your help in advance.

You sound pretty normal to me. The big test is enough to put doubt in the most confident of students. I took an NCLEX review course and it served me well. Good luck, you'll be fine.

Hang in there. As was said above, you're sounding pretty normal. I second guessed myself and questioned myself many times for the first couple of years. During the stressful times you ask "Am I cut out for this, I should have done something else with my life....etc......" Just ride those moments out realizing you're going to be o.k.

Good luck!

Dagwood my friend there really isn't anything to do. You've been preparing and practicing to take this test for over two years now. How much more time do you need? You know much more than you think. I wouldn't do a bunch of back tracking on your text books. Lippincot's has a wonderful book it's called NCLEX 3000 questions or something like that. Amazon.com has it listed. The book was wonderful because all it had were questions and next to the question was the rationale - no flipping pages. Spend your free time doing nothing but questions and answers. The NCLEX was pretty easy for me. I probable shouldn't say that because I don't want anyone not to study. Know your ABC's. When you sit down for the NCLEX take your time. Look at the question not the answers. Answer the question without looking at the answers. If your answer is one of the four below the question, I'm guessing you got it right. Good luck you'll do fine. We all felt exactly the same way you guys feel right now. That will be $350.00 the price of your reveiw class. I take Mastercard , Visa and Discover Card no personal checks please. :chuckle

I was so scared before my NCLEX I almost made myself sick, little did I know that was the easy part of being a nurse. My school sponsored a NCLEX review section for 3 days and that was a huge help. You have all the knowledge, just take some deep breaths and relax. You will do great!
