Hey all!

Im moving from Michigan to accept a job at WVU, and I'm having a hard time finding an affordable rental thats not student housing! Does anyone know any decent places or other neighborhoods around town? Im coming down in 2 weeks to view places and I'm trying to compile a list :D.

Thanks in advance for any tips!! :heartbeat

I know there are quite a few that aren't student housing but they aren't advertised quite as much. I know of this one http://www.lancasterpropertiesllc.com/ but that's all I really know of because I am a student and live in student housing lol

Good luck with your search.

I am a WVU grad.......but things have changed immensely since I lived there. Just remember, it is very busy close to campus on football weekends.

Did you work for WVU? If so how was it?? Did you like Morgantown in general? I'm a city girl coming frmo Detroit so I'm hoping it will be my style.

I got a taste of the traffic even in the one day I spent there last week!

I did work there for a few months after I graduated but moved when my husband got out of grad school and got a job elsewhere. It has been a long time since I was there.

You will find Morgantown to be different from Detroit, but the area is very scenic with the mountains and the Monongahela River. The climate is more temperate than Detroit, but you still have snow. You are not so very far from Pittsburgh which is a much larger city.

The housing is more affordable if you don't mind a 30min or so drive, an not living right in town--Fairmont, or across the border into Pa. Even those living in town can have a 30-45 min commute.
