Something random to brighten this frigid Tuesday

I was watching CSI or one of the similar shows the other evening, and one of the investigators was examining someone's remains in an attempt to figure out their profession. She made a comment about "occupational markers" on the corpse's hands, little bony ridges on the first phalange of her right hand. It made me laugh (because apparently I have a morbid sense of humor!) to think of what an investigator might conclude about those of us in MDS Land. So, I want to know....what nursing battle scars do YOU have? Wonky fingers from charting? Random calluses? Funny "missing digit" story? (I hope not, and apologize for being offensive; I'm slap happy today!)

PS. Mine would be the large "charting tumor" as my DON calls it, and a complete lack of a R index/middle fingerprint d/t mouse useage

There's got to be a marker in your eyes, from staring at a computer, and some sort of neurological thing in your brain that shows you have suspended all disbelief in spelling errors and nursing judgement errors. That's very specific.

Sorrry, but we've gone off the deep end in our dept. We've decided we're part of some alien experiment and not part of "reality" anymore. Can't be...there's just no way!!!

Here's a funny: our new DON charted about "advantageous" lung sounds! I guess I would say those would be inspiration and expiration! When I summarize for the quarterly MDS, I get to read over the nurse's notes and chuckle. So a sign for me would be people walking past my open door hearing me laughing to myself.
