I need some suggestions from everyone here. The job I have been at for the past year has no dress code. Free choice. Any print goes, any color goes, t-shirts and scruibs are cool. I love having teh freedom to show my individuality.
However, I am starting a new job on August 1st and the dresss code is navy blue and white. Scrubs must be all navy, all white, or a combination of the two. Shoes have no specifications.
How do people who work at places where there is a dress code show their individuality? I can buy some cool shoes to show off my personality, but is there anything else I can do??
Thanks,
Elizabeth, GN, LPN
JUST BE YOURSELF AND INDIVIDUAL IS NOT WHAT CLOTHES THEY WEAR...LET YOUR PERSONALITY SHINE THRU.........BEEN IN WHITES AND LOVE IT AN OLD SONG SAID "YOUR NEVER FULLY DRESSED WITHOUT A SMILE...:) "

I agree..that's the best way to see what someone's personality is...dress them all the same...and then let their inner self shine through...take good care of your patients as well...you want to be remembered for the caring and the good job you do...not by your silly socks...
THANKS AND I TOTALLY AGREE.....SOCKS DO NOT THE NURSE MAKE....THE CARING GENTLENESS DOES

One our Cardiothoracic surgeons recommended White miniskirts, fishnet stockings and stilettos for nursing staff. We all agreed to it until the MD realised that we were picking out theirs and some of the names being bandied around was millimeter man, inch worm ,named shorty, etc. We never were offendend by it i just helps us unwind.
