With the price of medical care exploding, and the changing political climate, reforms look to be on there way. IF the government does take a firmer grasp on the national healthcare system will it push more of the MDs out and put CRNAs in there place? Why would anyone go to the expense and hardship of medical school if they will be making the salaries of us mere mortals?
Is a government run health system good for a typical CRNA?

The BC contract did not get rid of the raises. We still got a raise, just not as much as we wanted and lost some of the benes (like PT nurses getting OT for every extra shift), which is why I left. Also, not all nurses are in the union. There are non-union jobs in psych, forensics and LTC to name a few (not that I would ever work them!). And we have private opthomology as well as ortho surgery clinics. Many are used by workers comp and the RCMP to speed things up, but unfortunately they are more expensive.
