Do any of your facilities have a social media policy? I know posting on Facebook is protected speech but it seems to cause trouble. I have staff members complain to me that their co-workers posted something nasty about them. I want to tell them to get off Facebook if reading posts upsets them....that's why there is an OFF switch
Oh gosh. Selfies while clocked in? That would make me cringe. You can never be too careful. I've talked to CNA's about this. Plus, you never know if there is patient- identifying info in the background.Unrelated, but in the past week, I had to counsel employees on: not being on the Internet in the UM's office while working and wearing headphones while working.
We get the headphones thing, too -- only it includes our night NURSES.
I guess I'm ignorant or people did it & I just didn't see it happen.
I couldn't believe it when I saw pictures on Facebook with our unit clearly labeled on them (and from people who have the employer listed). We have a pretty lax policy about phones at night- as long as your patients are cared for appropriately and your charting is done, you're free to relax and play games on your phone and stuff, but some of my coworkers go WAY too far with it. I just kinda keep to myself and have flat out said I won't be in pictures because I don't want to deal with any negative repercussions.
Edit: changed my username since I had my first name in the old one :)

Wow. If that person doesn't want that much responsibility they should go work at McDonalds. I'm sure they'll let that person listen to music through headphones.
