I am so upsest - I have been looking for a new job and feel like I have exhaused all of my options. i have literally spent hours on the internet (on this site, as well as others) looking for another job. I work the floor now and want to get out of that (more office administrative stuff) but I just can't find anything. I was so excited because I got an appointment with career services department at my alma mater and pretty much the first thing she tells me after i explain my situation is "i dont deal with health professions much so I cant really help you" and i got referred to the health professions college. I have emailed old instructors with no reply, searched all of the job websites, all the local hospital websites, i have even sat down and read the entire business section of the phone book. i am so unhappy where I am now i get sick before i go and dread going. i just dont know what else to do.

You need at least a years experience in order to get the type of jobs you are looking for. If you graduated in December 07, you probably started orientation in January, started working on your own in April and this is the beginning of May. 6 weeks of experience is not enough.

If you went into L&D straight out of school, which is a very narrow specialty, maybe you should look at other floors and get some general nursing under your belt. Med-Surg would be a great place if you want to end up in case management. Case managers need to understand what should be done for each client.
