So Upset

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I just took the NCLEX for the second time and failed.. I do not know what to do.. I studied so hard both times. Everyone tells me "You know the information", but obviously I don't cause I failed again. I hear that doing suzannes plan works. About to try anything at this point. All my friends have passed their exam and I am soooo happy for them. I just want to be happy for myself. Last time I failed I got so depressed. I am trying to keep my head up but its hard. I got all 265 questions both times. The results that they sent me had 8 categories. 7/8 I got near passing standard (Does that mean I didn't pass at all??) and in one I was below passing standard. Haven't got my results for the second test yet, just found out today that I failed. Any help out there???

I agree that you need some time off to distance yourself from the experience. Then, I recommend a review course (if you can afford it). There are many things to keep in mind when taking the exam. Here are three important ones.

First, pay attention to the what the question is asking. If the question asks for an intervention, as a general rule, a response that suggests further assessment is not correct.

Remember Maslow's hierachy when approaching questions. Basic needs first, then security needs, then love and belonging needs and so forth. A person in respiratory distress doen't need someone to hold his hand, he needs someone to clear the airway.

ABC is another focus (refer to above) airway, breathing, circulation.

Good Luck!!
