You are reading page 2 of So excited to start nursing school! How to prepare this summer?. If you want to start from the beginning Go to First Page.

I start my ABSN program in 38 days and I'm doing no form of studying. I'm working, spending time with friends, blowing off steam here and there in the gym.

I will be doing as much studying once I start and refuse to make nursing school my entire life haha.

Just relax and take some personal time off (:

Please update me on how your first semester goes, I truly would like to know your experience!

So today was the last day of the quarter. 1 down 3 to go until graduation lol.

I ended with a 3.9 GPA.

Hi there! I totally disagree with just sitting around especially if you are highly motivated like me. Here is a link to what I have suggested to other students who what to be ahead of the game. https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/what-to-know-1106099.html

Let me know what you think and if you have any questions!

This is an older post but please, please consider finding an ego check before finishing nursing school.

Hi everyone!

Just thought I'd give an update now since first semester is done and over!

Boy has it been quite a roller coaster. It was definitely the most stressful, anxiety-provoking, and highest tension situation that I have ever been in. The amount of time and dedication it took to get to the end is absolutely insane, but it was definitely worth it! I really gave it my all and did the best that I could. I loved clinical (once I got over some of those jitters!), really pushed through my courses and did really well! There were definitely plenty of times where I felt like I couldn't keep going, but I just took a deep breath and kept going. You truly do have to take nursing school day-by-day, or you won't make it. I feel like I could write a book on all of the experiences I had this semester. I feel like I really understand the information and that I made the right career choice! I don't know, I just feel so happy that I was able to make it to the end of the semester!

I'm going to post in a bit about my next semester classes and ask for some suggestions for preparation/tips now since I undersatnd what nursing school is all about. Thank you again to everyone who helped give me some suggestions and tips for my first semester!
