Okay, just a little background about me. I just graduated high school in June 2011 and started the nursing program at a community college nearby because I have a daughter. I'll be half way through in May, but I'm thinking about moving to Tennessee this summer and considering Excelsior to get my RN degree. I guess I just don't get exactly how it would work and just need the complete 411 for people in the program now. How are you paying for it? If it's all test, how do you know what to study? Any information would be so helpful! Thanks
Oh and when I talked to someone they told me I don't have to be an LPN since I have my clinical experience from school. Would it help me if I took the test to be a CNA though?

Sorry but you missed the boat on using your RN education to be admitted. Excelsior changed that policy several months ago. Please contact an advisor at the school to have this officially explained to you.

They still consider it on a case-by-case basis, according to the website (Admission Requirements for Associate Degree in Nursing Programs - excelsior.edu), but honestly if I were you, I'd stay in your current program.

It sounds like you'd be best off staying in your current program if you're already almost 50% done. You could try checking out technical/community colleges in Tennessee and see how many of your credits will transfer. Good luck!
