Is anyone else have cancelled classes and clinical due to all these snow storms? I have missed 2 clinicals already due to school being closed, and it looks like I will miss the next one as well! My instructors are very understanding, but I know sooner or later we will have to make up the hours and the assignments that are past due!

I live in Oklahoma. The first wintry weather of the season is apparently headed our way tonight. I don't have class tomorrow or Tuesday anyway, and I assume roads will be fine by Wednesday. I loved snow days in high school, but I hate them in nursing school. If clinical is cancelled due to inclement weather, we do not have to make it up. However, as a student I don't really like that because it means a learning opportunity was lost. If lecture is cancelled, our instructor will likely just put a narrated powerpoint online and our schedule continues as normal.
Luckily I haven't had lecture or lab cancelled. This past week my lab was cancelled because the class is split int o3 different lab days and the other two lab days were cancelled and my lab was 2 labs ahead, so we got to go home early after lecture! Clinical we have to make up. So a lot of us will be doing it on our spring break week! Not an ideal situation but sometimes you have to make sacrifices to get where you need to be! I live in Massachusetts and we have been bombarded with huge snow storms for the past 3 weeks! I am so ready for this snow to be gone! I can deal with a little bit of snow but its so bad it has crippled the state.

Yes! My semester started 1/12, and we haven't had a single lab yet. They have all been cancelled due to snow or holidays. It's incredibly frustrating, because then we're walking into clinical having no practical knowledge of skills we need. I'm learning everything on the go. They're extending our hours for the next 4 weeks to make up for it. Our labs will be 4.5hrs instead of 3.
