SNHU Online RN to BSN Program

Hi everyone! I was just wondering if any of you have heard of/done Southern New Hampshire University's online RN-BSN program? I start July 13th, I'll be working 36 hours a week as a new grad RN at the same time. How did/do you like their program? Everyone has been friendly so far and the program is affordable. Thank you!

The nursing classes are actually very interesting and not too hard. They're definitely doable! I took statistics and nursing 300 together, I just completed nursing 305 and ihp 420 together, and I'm starting nursing 315 and 350 February 8th. It is definitely doable! I work full time nights and I'm getting good grades!

Thanks for the info, xobritney! Glad to hear they are interesting. I already took stats previously and have a BA/MS so I should be going right into the nursing courses. Trying to figure out if two at a time would be too much. Should I expect 1 paper/test per week per course? Will the advisor suggest which two courses to take simultaneously? Enjoy your week off!! :)

I just started my classes this past November. I'm working on all the extra classes such as diversity, statistics, ethics etc. When I'm done with those classes I' ll finally be ready to start my nursing classes until early 2017. Thanks for the great pointers ladies.

The advisors definitely help you choose what classes are best to take together. I was able to start the nursing classes very fast too because I did a lot of prerequisites. Two classes is definitely doable. In the classes there is usually a final paper/PowerPoint. In the nursing classes specifically they have you do "milestone assignments" so the final paper is easier because you work on it little by little throughout the course. I work full time nights and go to school full time and it's definitely doable! Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I am in my fourth term at snhu. I am taking diversity right now. I am starting the first nursing course in April. I am taking one class at a time because I figured the course load will get heavier. Good luck with the rest of your classes...

Hi,

I do not plan on going for my MSN. I think I am content with stopping at the BSN level. I think if I had wanted to continue on as an APRN, then I would get my MSN through SNHU. It is a great school and I am happy to be there. I am currently in the nursing classes and it is tough and a lot of work but it is doable if you work hard and stay organized. Good luck!

It depends on the class. Some have short papers most weeks, along with journal entries and discussion posts. Two at a time is definitely not too much if you work 3-4 days a week and can commit to school work on your days off. My advisor recommended that I start with one class (which I did) then I have done two every semester. As of now I have 4 courses left. Good luck!

I am nervous to double up as I know we require a 80% to pass and I am nervous to take on too much. what has been the easier of the courses so far and what has been the most difficult?

I'm taking my first class now and will be taking the ids 400 class in june. can anyone recommend any professors they liked or didn't like? did anyone take ids 400 with a nursing course? thanks!

IDS 400 is that Diversity? That was a pretty good class. I just took it last term and got a 95. It is a lot of work, but I had a great teacher. Her last name was Carroll. She was great... She graded things on time, and was a fair grader. Good luck with the course.

So far I have taken statistics with the first nursing class and nursing 305 and 315 together. All of these classes were doable together. I am currently taking health assessment and diversity together, it is a lot of work. I wouldn't recommend taking these two together. I am taking the June-August semester off (transitioning into a new position and can't do school right now, need a break!). Good luck!
