Thanks Lisa ~ I will definitely check them out...and any others that you have as well.

I'm new here but thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a 31yo mother of two (8.5yo dd and 3yo ds) married to a great guy for the last five years. I've always wanted to be a nurse, but a highschool counselor convinced me that I wasn't smart enough. :angryfire Well, I just earned a 3.9 in Microbiology and I aspire to one day be a CRNA (so there, Mr. Howard!!) :p I just wish it hadn't taken me 12 years to figure it out!!

I am currently taking pre-reqs at the community college and I have 2 quarters of A&P before I start the program next spring. I also work full time as an NAC in a LTCF lock-down dementia unit. I absolutely love it! I have actually been doubting my CRNA aspirations because I really enjoy the patient interactions more than I imagined. We'll see. I have a long way to go and a ton of things to experience so I may change my mind between here and there.

I love this board and hope to get to know everyone!!

Welcome longtimecoming. We are a good group of people who are tryig be support one another as we all struggle to acheive the same basic goal. We welcome questions and any comments that you have to offer

Hello, well my birthday is next month and I will be 25- does that count? I am married to a wonderful guy, we have 2 children, a boy 22 months and a girl 33 months, I am currently in Chemistry, it stinks! I am a horrible studier myself, but I am getting better!

Oh and my hubby is definitly in the supporting but irritating group, only because from 7:30 on I study, from 7:30 on he wants to talk! OY!

anyone currently taking classes. Would love to discuss how you are studying, my study skills suck. I go from one thing to another, and at the end of the day I feel like I accomplished nothing any one else feel like this? or is it just me......my 12 yr old says it is just me lol

FIRST OFF I HAD TO PUT SCHOOL ABOVE ALL ELSE- ABOVE ME, KIDS, HUSBAND, WORK ETC. THEN SOME OF US WOULD GET TOGETHER THE DAY BEFORE EXAM TO COLLABERATE. I DIDNT THINK THIS WOULD WORK FOR ME BUT YOU WOULD BE SUPRISED. WHEN I AM LISTENING TO MY PEERS EXPLAIN SOMETHING I CAN FIGURE IT OUT EASIER - USUALLY LOL. ALSO I MAKE MY OWN FLASH CARDS. ITS CHEAP (JUST GET RECIPE CARDS) AND I CAN DO THEM ON MY WALKS(STRESS RELEIVER) AND WHEN IM COOKING OR GIVING BABY A BATH ETC. ASK QUESTIONS!!! ASK YUOR TEACHERS, AND CLASSMATES. REMEMBER SOMEONE ELSE MY BE WONDERING THE SAME THING TOO. THEIR ARE NO STUPID QUESTIONS....JUST STUPID MISTAKES MADE BY PEOPLE WHO DIDNT UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY WERE DOING, AND LEARN TO PROIRITIZE. I ALSO HAD TO PSYCHOLOGICALLY CHANGE MY WAY OF THINKING ABOUT STUDYING. I LOOKED AT IT AS TIME FOR MYSELF. I DONT KNOW IF U HAVE LITTLE KIDS BUT WHEN MY HUSBAND COMES HOME FROM WORK HE TAKES OVER (FOR THE MOST PART LOL) AND I GO IN ANOTHER ROOM AND STUDY. I WORK, HAVE 4 BOYS AGES 2-9 AND A SICK FATHER I TAKE CARE OF. I HAVE A 3.8 GPA AND AM PROUD OF IT- I NEVER CARRIED A GPA LIKE THAT IN HIGH SCHOOL LOL. HOPE THIS HELPS- ITS HELPED ME.

Wow thanks for the tips. I will try some of your idea's. I also have 4 kids, 2 girls & 2 boys ages 12-5. ANd a very supporative husband. I am working at a local hospital that is really good about teaching me(also a big confidence booster) Hope to hear from everyone Have a great day!!!

babynursewannab,

Hey we must be twins. I'm 35, 2 girls (11 & 3), married to a wonderful man, but he cannot take care of himself or just doesn't want to. The whole time i'm cooking supper, and then we sit down to eat, he doesn't talk much, or the girls, but when i'm done taking care of them and go to my little study hole on the other side of the house, it's "mom" "hey susan, did I tell you what happened at work today" "Mom the baby's in my room". No let me tell you the best one. When one or all of them come to my hole and ask me "What are you doing". I also feel guilty for not spending "enough" time with my girls so don't feel alone there. I've taken everything I need to start the LPN program in September, but there are only 48 spots and about 200 trying to get in, after LPN I will be looking into BSN. Well good luck with all, hope to here from you soon.

:roll It's about time we have our own thread going. I was beginning to feel left out.....;) I'm 31 and only have 7 weeks of my LPN left then I start the RN program in September. I am so excited. I just got a job in a doctor's office. It's not what I want to do after I graduate (I love working in hospitals) but it is good experience. I have 2 kids (5 & 9) and I feel like I am ignoring them since starting the program. We won't talk about what my house looks like. :D

Brenda

I am looking for some good nursing info sites. Dose anyone have any to share? I have plenty & I am looking for more.

Welcome brenda. We all feel like we are ignoring our families, but we have to think of the benifits in the long run. Best of luck to you
