Skills Test for CNA

Published

Hi everyone!!

I am currently going to be taking the CNA cetification skills test in Massachusetts. What should I concentrate on as far as the skills portion goes???

always rem to wash your hands before and after each skill, knock the residents door and explain what you are going to do.Just master all the skills and practice doing them on some teddy or doll or something, esp things like peri and catheter care. Also just relax its not so hard.

According to the official Massachusetts nurse aide registry site you can "Contact the Massachusetts Nurse Aide Testing Office at 1(800) 962-4337 or (508) 531-7958 (outside of MA) with requests for applications for the nurse aide competency evaluation program or questions about scheduling the examination." They should be able to answer your question. Most states, or the company they contract with to administer the testing examination print some sort of pamphlet or handbook that describes what you will be tested on.

Most of the teachers I have had in CNA class or Nursing School have told us they hate it when students don't communicate problems. How are they supposed to help you if they don't know what is going on with you? Tell the teacher what you told us, you are worried, you can't read and understand what she told you too and you are afraid you are doing badly. Ask for help, don't let the response you assume you will get scare you into silence! You might be surprised at how helpful your teacher can be with all this. Nothing ventured...nothing gained!;)
