I started wearing Shape-Ups at work for my three 12 hour shifts per week. In the beginning I thought they were great but soon found my legs and really my whole body being more tired than usual. Now 6 months later I have gone back to running shoes. The only good thing about Shape-ups is my feet never hurt. Many nurses at my facility wear them or MBT's. Not me anymore. Too dog tired. Would like to hear other opinions.

I started wearing shape ups about a month ago and really love them. I have noticed that when I wear regular shoes now my feet start to hurt really quickly now though. Before I switched to Shape Ups I wore Adidas running shoes with the really nice insoles they sell you at Finish Line. I just put the 2nd pair of insoles on top of the insoles that came with the shoes. I hated that the shoes were like $120, but they were well worth it. Hope this helps!

I've had mine for over 6mos and am about ready to replace them but they're still going pretty strong.
I just bought Dansko's but found they don't compare for me for comfort. I'm breaking them in on my off time, so maybe I'll switch off with them, but honestly for me I haven't found anything as comfortable as the shape ups. Running shoes don't compare at all for me. I used to run years ago...so I've gone through my share of them as well.
I haven't experienced the tired out feeling, in fact quite opposite. I can't believe my energy level and lack of soreness in these things, I'm even more physical in this unit and I have zero pain.
I guess it just boils down to we're all made different and have different needs for shoes. I'm glad you found something that works. Nothing worse than being in pain during or at the end of your shift!

I have coworkers that swear by them, but I tried them for a few months and while they were great at first, after a while, my feet/ankles were screaming at the end of 12 hours.
Back to New Balance at work for me. Like the previous poster said...guess we are all made differently.

I've never worn my shape ups at work. I wear them for walking about one hour four days a week.
I work 16 hour shifts and can't imagine what my legs would feel like if I wore them for work. So I've been using mine for well over a year for the time above. Lots of improvement in the beginning, then hit a wall but I'm not really in bad shape.

I wore mine for a month or two and then threw them into the back of my closet. They were very heavy and not very comfortable. I didn't see or feel any "shaping up" benefits with them, and nearly ate the floor several times when I didn't pick up my feet correctly while walking. I went back to my Keens. I am thinking of trying out the Danskos.

I work with a couple of people who will wear nothing else to work, and I work with a couple who tried them and hated them. I was planning to try a pair, but for the price, I just can't justify it if they don't last.
Also, a girl I work with turned her ankle and fractured her foot wearing her shapeups at work yesterday. Yikes!

Crocs (without the holes) and Birkenstock are the best shoes. Along with Nike Shox. I also do 3 12 hour shifts.

I bought some Shape-ups this past summer and I loved them!!! I wore them all the time to work and thought they were great! I did think, though, that when I got home, I couldn't wait to get them off because my feet were HOT in them!! LOL I stopped wearing them for a time, though, because my lower back and hip was bothering tme some... I wanted to see if it improved after I stopped wearing the shoes. It seemed to help some. I tried wearing them to work the other day and regretted it. My lower back was hurting, as was my hip (again) AND I have ALWAYS thought they are not great to wear when just standing around talking. Some people/patients like to chatter a bit... and while I do TOO... my feet KILL ME in these shoes when you are just standing around. I think it's okay to stand still in them here and there, but the pressure on my arch after a long day... not so much fun. Makes Marie a grumpy girl. LOL

I bought Skechers Shape-ups in June and have worn them every shift since. Feet are better and pain free, can work a 12.5 hour shift. However they haven't helped my knees one bit.
