Loving it more and more.
Been busy over the past couple of weeks that has taken me away from my computer, but on February 7th, 2006, I had my six month anniversary as a practicing RN.
When I looked over the past 6 months, I realize how far I have come as an RN. And I also see how comfortable that I have grown with the role of Registered Nurse.
I had my evaluation the other day, and my supervisor told me how proud she was of me. She has watched me deal with several emergencies over the past couple of weeks, and not once did I bat an eye.
I also found out that I will be winning an award. I think it is called the Outstanding Nurse Award, or something like that. I am humbled by all of this.
I love my job. I love the pressure, and I love the interaction with the patients.
I also enjoy when I have students, because I get to teach them why things are done in certain ways. One of my old instructors who is currently on our floor told me the other day that her students all request to have me as their primary because I keep them on their toes. And I am willing to take the time to explain things to them.
I enjoy what I do. At the end of the day, I leave work with a smile, and know that I have made a difference.
