Hi guys! I am in need of some advice. I'm applying for the ADN program in January 2018 for the fall 2018 program. I'm currently married, but very unhappy. My husband is an alcoholic who gets drunk and wants to kick me out every couple of months. I'm over it and ready to move out. Now this is the tricky part...I have 2 children prior to this marriage and 1 with my current husband. He says he will keep my son if I decide to actually leave. I know that won't work, so not really worried about that part. But does anyone have any advise on how to pay for living expenses while in nursing school? With 3 young children, idk how I can afford to get out and support them. Are there grants or scholarships available for single mothers? I don't like the idea of taking out loans to pay for living expenses but will if I have to. I keep reminding myself I am doing what is best for my children and this will pay out in the long run. Also my husband claims to be supportive with my nursing but complains already about my pre reqs taking up so much of my time, I could only imagine when the program actually starts. If you have any suggestions, I would gladly appreciate them. Thank you!!!

Everyone takes on loan. You will need all the support you can get with 3 kids. let go of that sucker/spouse. Cut your expenses to the absolute minimum and you can do it. Stay with parent/family = zero rent. No new clothing for you while in school , kids shop at the thrift store, get a prepaid phone for 20 bucks a month. If you have a car loan, dump it. Learn to do your own hair/make up. Live a very frugal life while you are in school.
I don't have any family to lean on, my parents passed away when I was younger. Thank you for the advice. I will keep that in mind.
