Hi Everyone. I finally finished my GED and I am a single mother of two kids, i am 30 and I have been out of school for 10 years. I want to become an RN, but I am doubting if I am too old or just been out of school for too long. do you guys think it's still possible for me to get this done, while working my full time job? I get no child support, and I want this so bad for my kids future. I also want to finally accomplish something for me. I've had a really rough 20s, and hoping my 30s would be much better :) Any tips, insights and advice would be appreciated!
Thank you all!
belledandy27: I am taking my last 2 pre-reqs this summer(A@P2 and Micro) at my local community college. It took me about 3 years to finish because I worked full time. I worked during the day and took classes at night, but there were a few student I had met that worked third shift and took classes in the morning directly after work. For me the general classes like English and Psychology were fairly easy, but the sciences were hard. I still somehow managed to get A's in most of them except Chemistry I got a B-. You should start with 2 classes and see how you feel. If your confident take more the next semester, if not take one at a time. When I got to the sciences I only took 1 or 2 classes at a time. I got accepted into a program that starts in September.Hope this helps and Good luck. Also, if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Thanks again Kristen! Will keep your advices in mind!
