I am nervous about what to expect in a simulation lab... i think it's going to be on asthma, and diabetes (hypoglycemia). I've NEVER had a simulation lab before and i'm really really nervous.
Can anyone give me any tips??
Thanks.

I hated simulations! We had two this semester with the SimMan mannequin that were all about cardiac & respiratory issues and if we didn't provide the right treatment and in a timely manner, they progressed into codes.
As far as a pediatric simulation, just bone up on what treatments you would provide for those problems, what tests would be ordered, and when to call the MD for further orders. I feel your pain - simulations are just awful, but better to learn and practice the treatments/procedures in lab than to get in the field and experience it for the first time on a real patient!

Sims suck because they're even less predictable than what a real patient will do to you.
Especially if the instructor behind the computer is a bit sadistic.
