Congrats everyone! I got in too! I really want to take the NURS 404 class in May as well, I’ll email my admissions counselor today to ask when administrators will decide whether or not to hold the class during the Summer. Still waiting to hear back from MGH IHP ABSN before deciding.
Even though their MSN ranking is bad like #111 or something, Simmons has like a good BSN reputation; right???
Hey congrats! Yes it has a great rep. I am definitely going and submitted my deposit. I have been in contact with Sydney Morgan, she is our academic advisor and this is what she emailed me this morning:
“Though your nursing coursework begins in the fall, we are offering the option for you to take NURS 404: Advanced Pathophysiology online in the summer (in place of taking it on-campus in the fall) or on-campus in the fall. Because the first fall semester of the accelerated BSN can be a heavy courseload, the nursing faculty recommend taking this course in the summer to significantly reduce your stress in the fall.
Please note the following:
NURS 404 will run May 18th to July 15th. You must commit to logging in to the course and participating in live, online sessions 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM EDT every Monday and Wednesday during these dates.
If the class does not meet minimum class size by May 10th, it will be cancelled and you will need to take the course as scheduled in the fall semester.
If NURS 404 is the only class you are taking this summer, you will not be eligible for financial aid other than the Dix Scholarship.
This is the only online course in the Accelerated BSN curriculum.
The prerequisites to NURS 404 are Anatomy and Physiology I and II, or one semester each of Anatomy and Physiology, with a grade of C+ or higher. If your final A&P transcripts will arrive in our office after May 20th, you are not eligible to take NURS 404 this summer.“
Hi All!
I was accepted into the Fall 2020 cohort and couldn't possibly be more excited! Though it does seem like we're playing a bit of the waiting game at the moment given all of the COVID-19 uncertainty. Has anyone else heard anything regarding program logistics? Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hi! I am starting this forum to discuss the upcoming decisions that should be coming out in February for the Dix Scholars ABSN program at Simmons starting in September 2020. I know we have to get in to the program first but is anyone interested in taking the Pathophysiology class early (end of May)? I'm hoping they offer it.
