Silly reason for ER visit?

Question: Is it really silly for someone to go to the ER with a broken toe?

My sister went yesterday and she got the impression that the staff thought it was trivial (it was the forth toe). Admittedly she has NO tolerance for pain. Still, urgent care was closed.

Should she have waited until Monday and seen her own doc?

I don't think it's silly...I broke my right great toe last year, and the pain was horrific. I went to Urgent Care, but if they'd been closed I would've gone to the ER. I didn't know whether it was just my toe or whether other foot bones were involved. I ended up spending a week on Vicodin, supposedly off my feet (really I spent the week singing and dancing in a Gilbert and Sullivan show...with my foot up and ice on it between scenes), and 4 weeks in a blue boot.
