I know GBMC (Greater Baltimore Medical Center) was offering $5,000-10,000 bonuses for experienced nurses, especially in critical care, OR, ER, and tele. I'm pretty sure Johns Hopkins doesn't offer sign on bonuses but nurses make pretty good money there, with a $1000 bonus every six months as a full time RN. University of Maryland was offering $1500 bonuses for new grads who accepted positions early. As for general salary, it really depends on the area. Where are you relocating from? Depending, you might find cost of living in certain areas a lot higher than you might expect here- downtown nice areas in Baltimore, a good 2 bedroom is 1200-1800 easily, and that's without parking. Good luck in your job search!

i am planning to apply in maryland. i am a new RN here in philippines. i emailed the BON and requested for eligibility coz i wana work there. however, how long will it take for me to get the ATT? and based on the infos i got, they only need CES, NCLEX, and ofcourse the visa screen right? coz i heard it is faster in New mexico and some of my frends here are planning to have their eligibility done there and then from there, they will ask for an endorsement to the state they really prefer to work at. is this safe to do? or it would be much better if you will apply directly to your choice of state? i was planning to apply too in NM but im not really gonna work there,i just heard they have faster process and endorsement can be made. is maryland a good place for nurses? how great will be your recommendation about working in maryland?i hope i'll get an answer regarding this matter.thanks!!:roll
