Sign-on bonus?

Anyone know if Ochsner has a sign-on bonus for new grads? I know Touro has $1000. :yeah:

No bonus @ Oschner.... but the pick of units is limitless... you can pretty much work anywhere if you make it clear u know wat your doing..... Tulane has a $2000 sign on bonus and benefits out the wazoo.... only the parking is disgusting.. good luck

disgusting? The parking is free...they give you a card

beware of sign on bonus's the higher the amount the higher the bad stuff going on there. They will give a higerh bonus to lure in new staff but high chances are the working conditions are bad

Unless it has recently changed, (like since my husbands last paycheck) they debit your check $24.00 a month for garage parking.

I just started and was told it is free?

the disgusting part was referring to parking on the street and having some crackhead steal ur radio....... i just started too and was told that parking was avaliable across the street on a monthly basis for a fee but havent yet been told the exact $$.

understood....I am new to New Orleans but it looks as if crackheads could indeed abound in that area...LOL...I don't know, we were told it was free to park in the Saratoga and LaSalle garages.

Sign in Bonus Advice:

Be advise that example: $2500.00 sign on bonus=about $1400.00 in yourpocket after taxes. But if you don't like the place or vice versa. Then you owe back the full $2500.00. So when it comes to sign on bonus what I would do,taht is if you can afford it. Is to take the sign on bonus. DON'T cash it. Put it in you safety deposit box or in in a safe place. Don't cash it!!. Then if it works out later great! celebrate and cash it, and that way if it does not work out. Just give them the check back and move on. just an idea!!

Wow! it amazes me the negative things people have to say about New Orleans, but will take the opportunity to work in the city. Crackheads abound not just in New Orleans but through out the country. I take offense as a true New Orleanian. Maybe ya'll should reconsider moving there. I mean, why even relocate or work in a drug and crime infested city? I relocated to Atlanta during Katrina, and yes Atlanta too has its problems as well.

Off the subject, but since there are some people working at Tulane posting here, can anyone tell me anything about their transplant units? Anyone know someone working on one of these units?

OK...let me clear something up here. I desire working in the middle of an urban environment....I grew up on the North side of St Louis in the ghetto, so being around those elements is nothing new to me...it was not a put down on New Orleans....just an observation. I also lived in Atlanta for about 10 years....some of those years on not the greatest sides of town ( Adamsville, West End) so I am well aware of Atlanta's problems....like I said just an observation
