Hello I'm currently a senior (also a CNA) in high school, and my school is a career school and has given me the opportunity to intern at our community hospital. I have been so far interning in one of the medical-surgical unit and have learned a lot. However, I don't know if I should stay or move into a less busy unit. Thank you.

A lot of people say that med surg experience is good (some even say necessary) to practice your skills before moving on to a specialty unit. I'm not a nurse, but when I become one, I plan on getting some med-surg experience before moving on to a specialty.

If you're succeeding on the MedSurg floor and don't know of a more specialized area you'd like, it can never hurt to stick with MedSurg! Busy is good! :)
