Hello everyone, I am currently working as cna at one hospital for about 5 months now. I got my att about a month ago and I scheduled my exam in next 2 month. I want to focus entirely on my nclex preparation i talked with my manager that I want to quit my job. C was really supportive about this but then she suggested me to write reasons for quitting as relocation of my husband as he is in military but I don't want to lie but c told me that I would rather lie cuz quitting job for nclex study Does not look good in my resume. So m in big dilemma that should I lie and quit my job or should i tell the truth n quit my job or should I continue to work and study which I think it's near to impossible cuz I work full time 5 days a week and it's 2 hr commute from my home to my workplace because of which at the end of the day m so tired that I can hardly study. Plz help me out n sorry for long post.

Give a more acceptable reason for quitting as the manager suggests. You never know that you might want to go back to work there in the future. She is correct, you would never put on your resume that you quit to study for the NCLEX. If you can't come up with anything better, the old standby "personal reasons" is always out there.

BTW, reason for leaving a job is on job applications, not a part of one's resume. Resumes are supposed to highlight a person's positive information, the details are left for the application.

Thank u for u advice . Guess m gonna use the same old reason. Hope it wud work out for best.
