Hello AllNurses 😄😄
I recently graduated nursing school and am waiting to take my boards. I also just got a job offer, woo hoo!
However, I am in a dilemma.
I got a HHA job 4 months ago to help pay for bills and get more experience in client care. However, I am sick and tired of how the company treats me.
- Double shifts (2 x 8 hours) 4-5 days a week. They lost a lot of student workers because it's summer time. Isn't it also unsafe? I sleep at most 4-5 hours a night because I have other things to do as well (like studying for my boards!) Patients are also total care.
- I only get paid $8.00/hr. At my last job at a fast food place, I got $9.50/hr.
- If I say I cannot work a certain shift, they get mad and get make snarky remarks like how I no longer have school and should have more availability hours.
- I had 5 friends who worked here who have all quit and thought I was crazy for staying.
I don't know if I should quit (still have to work two more week) or stay and work only 1-2 days.
I'm afraid they will give me 6-7 12 hour shifts a week because they have done that.
How can I nicely quit? 😞😞
