I am hoping for some advice any and all advice welcomed!!
To make a long story short(er) I was in a LPN program(about to start my 3 session doing very well) here in Colorado 4 yrs ago and my sister was killed in a car accident. I went home to be with my family and when I came back I was a mess and in no position to go back. Also the school having some issues so I decided to take some time off and just start taking classes at the local CC where I eventually completed my pre reqs. At that time I knew even with my good grades that the wait list in Denver were running 3-6 yrs so I got on a waitlist outside of the metro in a rural area. I was very excited because of how it looked like with my # on the wait list I would be starting this fall. Well a few months ago they decided to change their program to competitive....which is all fine most programs in Colorado are now BUT all of them finished out their waitlist first. They didn't just sent us letters telling us we were pretty much S.O.L. and should just try again. I was heart broken because we had planned to relocate this fall
We were seriously considering moving to Dallas/Fort Worth after I was done with school years ago so I started looking again. There is a very good chance of my husband getting transferred there too. I notice there is a lot of LVN programs in that area and also through out the state. Concorde is out of the question, but I did call Dallas Nursing Institute today. The guy did seem nice but couldn't answer a lot of my questions and did promise to call back. I am open to any program really.
I am feeling very pressed for time. I have been messing around with this honestly way too long I am also not getting any younger I will be in my early 30's when I will be done right now and I dont want to wait any longer. Realistically a nursing program here in Denver is not a good chance so I am willing to relocate. If I do stay here I am at a point where I may need to he looking at other options and I don't really want to do that. Any service us welcomed I think I am mainly focusing on LVN programs and would like ro be in DFW but am open to other parts of the state too!
Thanks in advance

I would not advise ANYONE to attend a private nursing school like Dallas Nursing Institute. The tuition cost far outweighs the opportunities for employment, which are few, particularly for LVNs. You'll be stuck with massive student loans that, even if you do find a job, you will be hard pressed to justify having to repay with the pay scale you will qualify for. In addition, most of these private schools have a bad reputation in the area and employers are not eager to hire from them.
We have many community colleges in DFW doing ASN programs, but every last one of them is competitive entry and getting in is a real accomplishment.
So my answer is no, I would not consider coming here if you are looking for a faster, easier way into and through nursing school.
