Oh defiantly apply. How much of your time does it take to fill out an application & complete an essay if necessary, not much! I applied to so many different nursing programs even though I didn't think I would get accepted or that I didn't meet the requirements. The nursing program I got accepted into stated (on the website) certain prerequsite courses and that I needed organic chemistry to take my 1st nursing class. I applied anyway. I got my acceptance letter and it stated that now the requirements changed starting this year that you can take organic chem concurrently with 1st nursing class. Go for it!!
I would definitely make a note that the previous class was canceled. Seems cruel to hold that against you- they should be able to look in the records to see that you registered for it.
Also check if there might be a comparable class at another college that you could take.
I would certainly apply and see what happens. Good luck.
Yes!!! Apply! The worst they can tell you is to apply again in January. So many nursing programs in my area are adding a computer proficiency class to the nursing program application. Hope all goes well.
When the advisor told me that I had to take a computer class, I thought he was trying to be funny. I mean, gee, I've paid $91 for a pass/fail computer class that's only 2 Saturdays. But that's the plan, apply in late Aug/early Sept and try again in January.:typing

To get into the nursing program at my community college, you have to take a pre-req computer class (pass/fail-only 2 Saturdays!). I registered for the class this summer, but the class was cancelled due to low enrollment.
So I registered to take it again in the fall on Sept 20 and 27. Here's the problem: The last day to turn in your nursing application for Spring 2009 is Sept. 12.
Should I apply to the program anyway just to see what happens even though it's likely I won't be accepted?
OR
Should I not waste my time and just reapply in January for Fall 2009?
