:icon_roll I'm currently about to take the NClex PN exam and I want continue my education. I've been thinking about using the collegenetwork program but I have some questions. First is it better to have an associate or a Bachlors? I know with a BS they say it is oppertunity for management but I know of RN's with associates doing the same job and getting paid the same as someone with a MSN is there really a difference or do you think this is a rare thing? Second will I be looked at differntly because I have a online degree? Third I am intrested in maybe getting a masters in Medical administration I know I need a BS first but does anyone know if that would a good idea for a nurse to go from nursing to medical admin? If you have any input plz help

In order to do the EC BSN you must be an RN. You don't need The College Network to do the EC ASN. Most people who respond on this site agree it is a waste of money. But for some, they don't consider it to be a waste of money. There are programs where you can go from LVN to BSN via distance, Indiana State University is one of them. As for the MSN, it depends on the individual positions you are seeking and your career aspirations. Yes, people with MSNs work as staff RNs and are paid roughly the same as other RNs. Then again, most people who get an MSN find some kind of position where the MSN is helpful or necessary and they get commensurate pay. It is all about where you want to go with your career and how much you want to put into an education to get you there. Same goes for your ideas about going into medical administration. You have a choice of higher degrees that will help you to achieve whatever your goals are. You should do a search of this site. You can find a ton of threads and posts that address your questions.
