Hello, I'm currently living in shanghai China and thinking of going into nursing school. I have a baby on the way so by the time I enter school I will be 32 years old. Is it too late to start nursing school? I have a bachelors degree in economics and also studied mba in fashion afterwards. My mom was a nurse officer in the past and she sometimes go to work even when she's at her age 60, it makes me think the job is very fulfilling.
I'm married and living in China now so it's quite hard to find a nursing school taught in English. ive found one school taught in English, but it's an associate degree nursing program (3 yrs). It's partnered with bob jones university in the states and after graduation I can also take nclex RN exam. I see that there are many accelerated BSN programs in the states that let me finish in 1-2 yrs too, but I'm quite worried to leave my family in China for those years.
In this case should I just go to ADN 3yr course in China and in the future if I want to further my study just go to USA and take the bridge program ? I'm concerned because I heard they don't really hire ADN nurses anymore.
Also, does the school really matter?? The ADN course school here in shanghai is not well known at all. Having nclex RN certificate is more important than where you studied it right ?
Please I need your opinions and help!!
thank you :))

However, if you insist on working at an acute care hospital, obtaining the BSN degree will be your safest bet.
