Should, I giveup on becoming a RPN/LPN?

I'm slow as a CNA/PSW sometimes it takes me an hour and a half to finish rounds and the other night, I changed a resident's ostomy bag for the first time. The first time, I had the seal fit perfectly on the stoma however, I screwed up and put the flange on the wrong side so, I had to redo it. The bag was facing in towards her stomach rather than down and away. The redo took me 10 mins and, I had a hard time getting the seal on properly the second time there was a small gap between the stoma and seal. The bag and the flange were in the right spot. I told the resident that it was my first time changing a bag and that it might leak, I even told the next shift that, I was worried about it leaking. The next day when, I came back to work the resident said that the bag only held for 4 hours and she said it came off. I have seen the other PSWs put tape around the flange to help it to stick. There was no tape available when, I changed it. I'm abviously incompetent at my job, I could change an ostomy appliance without making a mistake and having it fail, if, I cant do that then, I cant be a nurse ?.

Not true. Inability to improve and learn would mean not able to be a nurse. It sounds like you learned something here and will do better next time. There isn't a nurse in existence who got there without humbling moments like this one. Keep going.

I think your way too hard on yourself. Sometimes getting that good seal is hard and not straightforward as it sounds. Since your coworkers are putting extra tape on it, it sounds as if they are having issues themselves to maintain that seal.
