Should I get a AsN or a BSN

Go for your BSN. With the wave of medicine today and the advanced techniques, you will need your advanced degrees, i.e. BSN, MSN, APN.

I agree. A BSN opens up opportunities in other realms besides hospital nursing. In nursing, the more options and choices you have, the less likely you are to burn out.

I would suggest a BSN because of the fact that ASN nursing is going to be done away with ,they have already made it to were you cant specialize in any area with a ASN ,that went into effect in 2000 and I graduated in 2000 ,so I ended up with the shaft,after all I started the program with all of the options to specialize and then when we get ready to graduate they say "by the way AD Nurses cant specialize any longer,we just thought we would tell you",also as far as you going for one year ,there isn't any Nursing programs that are only one year unless you were a LPN before,because it takes 2 full years of clinicals to be complete,normally if one was to go straight through a ASN program it take a year or two of pre requisites before you can even start the program,I hope this helped.
